The mountains were named towards the end of the 70’s, during the French Revolution.

Deodat de Dolomieu, French geologist and passionate traveller, discover that the rock in the composition of the mountains was ore, calcium carbonate and magnesium. Of curiosity, he sent a sample to the Genovese geologist Nicolas de Saussure, who examined it and showed this rock to the scientific community, under the name of Dolomia. Ever since, the whole mountain string was named like this.

WHY RESIDENCE ?

Each day, the performance on show, the used tracks, the level differences and the done kilometres are calculated.
