History

My grandparents, Columbus and Mary, Erica and Ennio and parents waiting for their third daughter, Daniela, in 1958 decided to build a house with a bed somewhere to rent in Alba di Canazei. In order to realize their dream gave a lot to do, and as we see from the picture the grandmother pregnant Mary worked hard in the yard.

In the fall of '58 their house was ready: it was called THE MARIA TERESA.

In 1961 the villa was enlarged.

It was built a piece used as a dining room and some rooms were added. The house changed its name VILLA ADRIA.

By 1974 a further extension formed a bar to dining new, as well as other bedrooms.

In 1983 Columbus and Maria retire and take their place his daughter Erica.

The most challenging was built in 2003. He added a 7-storey structure, which are now also the new apartments.

Now Erica's family manages the HOTEL VILLA ADRIA with the same kindness and hospitality inherited from parents.

And 'with great emotion that I sincerely thank my grandparents for all they have done for us, and my parents for what they are doing today.

"A museum for life!" Colombo Dantone

A Penia di Canazei, an incredible collection of objects, tools and anything else we talk about the past of this land and events related to her children.

At 1 km from the hotel you can visit for free the most comprehensive museum of war and times of the Valley, in Penia di Canazei, next to Garni "Col da Vila". The Museum is open in summer, Monday to Friday from 17.00 hours to 19.00 hours. Info tel. 0462.602063

Dantone Colombo, born in 1926, soul and engine failure namesake museum on September 22 of 2002 right next to what had been a busy summer for him.

A summer with the many visitors who came up in Penia to see the precious collection of objects collected with great passion during his adventurous life, had finally bestowed the right reputation.

But thanks to the will of his wife Mary and family, the museum will remain open.

In Colombo Dantone we sincerely say thank you for your life, what its objects tell us about this collection for what it reveals to us all.
