In the year 2005, two new vacation apartments with wood interiors were completed in our historical farmhouse – using wood grown and harvested on our own land. The apartments have a natural, environmentally harmonious design and were furnished with natural materials. We recognize the importance of continuing rustic styles and traditions and believe that our guests will appreciate the warm, cozy atmosphere they provide.

Leisure... for the Whole Family

In the Springtime, Mother Nature is reborn at the Fiechterhof. Flowers blossom, and verdant pastures stretch as far as the eye can see. Just close your eyes and breathe in that pristine country air!

In the Summertime, we suggest that you try lengthy hikes through the Sarentino Valley Alps. Enjoy the crystal-clear air, the wonderful views of the extensive alpine landscape of the Dolomites and the South Tyrolean Alps.

You'll find the Autumn the ideal time for hiking and strolls. The golden-yellow landscape and the mild climate make our region the perfect place for the quaint custom of "Törggelen" (hiking with frequent rest-stops to sample delicious and hearty local dishes like sausages, chestnuts, and "New Wine").

In the Wintertime, Johanna will lead the way with fun-filled tobogganing for children at the Fiechterhof! If you enjoy skiing, then you'll love the Reinswald Ski Area, just 15 km away. Further options include cross-country skiing, snow-shoe hiking, and ice-skating. In the evening, you can curl up on the comfortable sofa in your cozy, warm apartment.

When the weather is inclement, you might want to explore our farmhouse library. There, you'll find lots of books about South Tyrol, hiking in the Sarentino Valley Alps and throughout South Tyrol, and of course children's books, board games for adults and children (incl. checkers, puzzles, etc.).

Our outdoor games: Badminton, basketball, slides, swings, sandboxes, and – on hot days – a kiddy pool.

The Chronicle of Our Farmstead

Old documents dating back to the year 1288 mention a farmstead called "Fiechter" (< "spruce") built under a spruce forest, behind the village of Ponticino. In other documents, it is referred to as "Fiechter am See" ("Fiechter on the Lake").

The handsome Fiechterhof Farmstead has been in the possession of the Felderer Family since 1881. Josef Felderer, from the Pusteria Valley, purchased the farm from the previous owner, Peter Stuefer. His son, also named Josef, took over the farm in 1892 and opened up a country inn in the cellar of the main building. In 1933, the family planned to relocate the inn, and so began the construction of an inn approx. 400 meters north of the farm. In 1935, operations were transferred to the new building.

The impressive barn was built in 1857, and can still be admired today.

Since 2001, the current owner, Albert, and his wife Elisabeth and their children manage the Fiechterhof. After the successful renovation of the upper story in 2006, the family has been renting out two vacation apartments to vacationers eager to get a taste of life "down on the farm."

At an altitude of 940 meters above sea-level, nestled in the beautiful Sarentino Valley of South Tyrol, the Fiechterhof is the perfect place 365 days a year for a memorable holiday.
